Bobby West Trio will perform popular jazz standards, featuring Lin Weisheng on bass and Alex Morris on Drums. Bobby West was born in Louisiana, the birth place of jazz. His fingers were so long he was told that he’d either be a piano player or a pick pocket. Fortunately for us, he chose the piano.

爵士鋼琴三重奏 (piano trio) 可以說是爵士樂團中最具有代表性的編制之一，這種由鋼琴，低音提琴，鼓組組成的編制對於參與的樂手來說可以說充滿了高度的挑戰性，身為主軸的鋼琴手必須兼顧旋律以及和聲，不管在和聲或是節奏上，必須要能夠主導樂團的走向，因此，如果是能力不夠強的樂手，就會很容易讓整場演奏變成冗長而不知所云，常常是因為鋼琴手的腦海中沒辦法釋放出清楚的訊息，因此低音提琴手跟鼓組只能淪落到提供基本的節奏，而無法作任何音樂上的互動。出生於紐奧良的鋼琴家Bobby West , 繼承了來自爵士發源地的深厚搖擺靈魂。他每個放音的位置，每個節奏與和聲上的詮釋，都可以讓觀眾們清楚的聽到，他要詮釋的「音樂故事」是什麼？ 從他的演奏，觀眾也可以聽到來自歷史上諸多鋼琴大師，如Erroll Garner, Red Garlabd , Sonny Clark等人的音樂影響。 (林煒盛)

出身爵士樂發源地-路易斯安那州 一雙修長手指的Bobby 總被調侃適合彈奏鋼琴或是剪綹仔賊偷

還好他選擇了琴鍵 我們有福氣欣賞他的湛妙琴藝 Bobby West was born in Louisiana, the birth place of jazz. His fingers were so long he was told that he’d either be a piano player or a pick pocket. Fortunately for us, he chose the piano. As is often the case of jazz musicians who not supported in their home country of the United States, Bobby left for a lauded career abroad, performing for nearly 3 decades in France (Club New Morning in Paris, one of the oldest jazz clubs in Europe), Germany, the U.K., Portugal, Japan, Dubai, Oman, Zagreb, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Spain, Shanghai and the Netherlands, among others. He now divides his time between living abroad and in his hometown of Los Angeles--performing, recording and creating original compositions of passion, originality and authenticity for which he is known.Bobby performs, records and composes in the genres of jazz, classical, hip-hop, R&B, pop and world music. Despite his teachers admonition, he also performs and composes works in the classical vein--orchestral, symphonic, sonatas and concerti.  

[ 林煒盛 Lin WeiSheng | Bass ]

吉他演奏家林煒盛出生於台灣台南市，台灣大學哲學系畢業，退伍後赴美國攻讀爵士低音提琴碩士，2001年獲得紐約州立大學(Purchase college，State Univ. of NY)音樂碩士學位(master of music)，畢業後在紐約展開職業演奏生涯，為目前極少數在紐約從事全職樂手的台灣人。林煒盛在紐約曾與許多知名的爵士樂手合作，包括Ralph Lalama、Bill Mays、Bob Dorough、Joe

Cohn、Bobby Porcelli、T.S. Monk、Lewis Nash、Eddie Bert等等；演奏地點遍及美國東岸各大爵士樂俱樂部如Blue Note、Birdland、Iridium、Lenox Lounge、Up Over Jazz Café、Cleopatra’s Needle、Deer Head Inn等。林煒盛並曾受國際主流爵士媒體All About Jazz New York青睞予以報導，2006年10月由名樂評Donald Elfman為其個人專輯"Gone With the Wind"撰寫樂評並給予佳評，而All About Jazz更曾於2007年7月選擇他為當月值得聆聽人物(Listen Up!)之一。

Guitarist WeiSheng Lin was born in Tainan, Taiwan . He began to study double bass at the second year of college . After one year , he was playing professionally with local musicians in Taipei . In 1999 , WeiSheng moved to New York to pursue graduate studies at State University of New York ,Purchase College . While in school ,he studied bass with Todd Coolman and Dennis Irwin and studied guitar with the legendary guitar master Joe Puma. WeiShneg finished his graduate studies in 2002 .Since then , he has been very active in New York jazz scene . He has played in many New York jazz clubs , such as Blue Note ,Birdland , Iridium ,Lenox Lounge , Cleopatra's Needle , Small's ,etc . He has performed with Jon Faddis , Bill Mays , Ralph Lalama , Don Sickler , Bob Dorough , Joe Cohn ,Bobby Porcelli, Grant Stewart T'S Monk ,Lewis Nash ,Eddie Bert ,Doug Munro,etc. 

In 2006 , WeiSheng's debut album "Gone With the Wind" was highly acclaimed by All About Jazz's music critic Donald Elfman .Also, in July of 2007 , All About Jazz picked WeiSheng Lin as 2 of the "listen up" musicians of the month . 

For the last few years , WeiSheng has been involved in Animal rescue scene in Taiwan ,especially for dogs . In 2014, WeiSheng decided to move back to Taiwan to take care of the senior dog "Shiung Bao",who he has rescued years ago . While spending a lot of time volunteering in animal rescue scene, he still maintains his busy schedule as a professional musician . 

[ Alex Morris | Drums ]

Born in 1988, has performed at the Wembley Arena in London, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Beijing MasterCard Center, Dizzy's Club Coca Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, Le Trianon Concert Hall in Paris, the Taipei Arena, the Worker's Arena in Beijing, the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, the Guangzhou International Sports Arena, the Qintai Concert Hall in Wuhan, the Star Hall in Hongkong, Stadium Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur, as well as many other venues throughout Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, Australia, North Africa, and the United States.
