The Julian Wittich Standards Quartet is a band dedicated to performing popular (and lesser known) standards. With little to no pre-arrangement, this stellar group of musicians lets all the magic happen onstage for the audience to experience with them.

[ 紀安 Julian Wittich | Bass ]   

Julian Wittich (紀安) (1999) 是一位爵士貝斯手和作曲家，目前居住在阿姆斯特丹。出生於台北的 Wittich 7歲就開始拉小提琴，他很快就發現了自己對各種音樂風格的興趣，自學成才在13歲時開始學電貝斯，然後17歲時開始學低音大提琴(double bass)。他目前在阿姆斯特丹音樂學院讀書，跟歐洲一些著名的爵士貝斯手學習，例如 Clemens van der Feen 和 John Clayton。

Conveying pure emotion, intensity, and soul through his music, Julian Wittich is a bassist and composer currently based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. As a native of Taipei, Taiwan, Wittich began his musical studies with the violin at 7 years old. He soon discovered his appetite for various styles of music, teaching himself to play the electric bass at age 13 and eventually the double bass at age 17. During his high school years at Taipei American School, Wittich was hailed as one of the most exciting musical prospects in Taiwan, playing semi-professionally throughout the country, winning 2nd Prize at the 2016 Taichung International Jazz Festival Competition, and performing there as a main act that year. Currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Wittich’s influences include: Ray Brown, Christian McBride, Marcus Miller, Oscar Peterson, & many more. He most recently recorded an album in late 2018 with flamenco guitarist DuCroock and Grammy award-winning percussionist Richard Marquez, set to be released in early 2019.

[ 林煒盛 Lin WeiSheng | Guitar ]

吉他演奏家林煒盛出生於台灣台南市，台灣大學哲學系畢業，退伍後赴美國攻讀爵士低音提琴碩士，2001年獲得紐約州立大學(Purchase college，State Univ. of NY)音樂碩士學位(master of music)，畢業後在紐約展開職業演奏生涯，為目前極少數在紐約從事全職樂手的台灣人。林煒盛在紐約曾與許多知名的爵士樂手合作，包括Ralph Lalama、Bill Mays、Bob Dorough、Joe

Cohn、Bobby Porcelli、T.S. Monk、Lewis Nash、Eddie Bert等等；演奏地點遍及美國東岸各大爵士樂俱樂部如Blue Note、Birdland、Iridium、Lenox Lounge、Up Over Jazz Café、Cleopatra’s Needle、Deer Head Inn等。林煒盛並曾受國際主流爵士媒體All About Jazz New York青睞予以報導，2006年10月由名樂評Donald Elfman為其個人專輯"Gone With the Wind"撰寫樂評並給予佳評，而All About Jazz更曾於2007年7月選擇他為當月值得聆聽人物(Listen Up!)之一。

Guitarist WeiSheng Lin was born in Tainan, Taiwan . He began to study double bass at the second year of college . After one year , he was playing professionally with local musicians in Taipei . In 1999 , WeiSheng moved to New York to pursue graduate studies at State University of New York ,Purchase College . While in school ,he studied bass with Todd Coolman and Dennis Irwin and studied guitar with the legendary guitar master Joe Puma.  WeiShneg finished his graduate studies in 2002 .Since then , he has been very active in New York jazz scene . He has played in many New York jazz clubs , such as Blue Note ,Birdland , Iridium ,Lenox Lounge , Cleopatra's Needle , Small's ,etc . He has performed with Jon Faddis , Bill Mays , Ralph Lalama , Don Sickler , Bob Dorough , Joe Cohn ,Bobby Porcelli, Grant Stewart T'S Monk ,Lewis Nash ,Eddie Bert ,Doug Munro,etc.  In 2006 , WeiSheng's debut album "Gone With the Wind" was highly acclaimed by All About Jazz's music critic Donald Elfman .Also, in July of 2007 , All About Jazz picked WeiSheng Lin as 2 of the "listen up" musicians of the month . 

For the last few years , WeiSheng has been involved in Animal rescue scene in Taiwan ,especially for dogs . In 2014, WeiSheng decided to move back to Taiwan to take care of the senior dog "Shiung Bao",who he has rescued years ago . While spending a lot of time volunteering in animal rescue scene, he still maintains his busy schedule as a professional musician . 

[ Jonas Ganzemueller | Sax ]  

尤樂 （Jonas Ganzemueller) 是一位出生於德國漢堡的優秀爵士薩克斯風樂手。其豐富的表演遍布於世界各地，重要的演出經歷包含了荷蘭阿姆斯特丹的Bimhius音樂廳，北海爵士音樂季（North Sea Festival），漢堡的「Birdland」爵士音樂廳，以及紐約的林肯爵士音樂中心 （Jazz at Lincoln Center)，和曼哈頓 Iridium 爵士俱樂部。尤樂2011年畢業於紐約曼哈頓音樂學院爵士薩克斯風碩士班，求學期間獲得德國DAAD，荷蘭NFPK Huygens 以及 Prins Bernhard 公立獎學金。2010年尤樂贏得美國薩克斯風聯盟大賽第二名，其精湛的演奏風格亦讓他受邀參與了拉丁教父級爵士大師Bobby Sanabria於2012年所錄製的專輯「Titu Puente Masterworks」。唱片在推出後佳評如潮，同年亦獲得拉丁葛萊美獎爵士樂類獎項提名。

尤樂的第一張專輯 「午夜夢迴」(Midnight Runner) ，特別邀請了樂界知名度極高的爵士薩克斯風樂手Chris Cheek ，共同錄製了多首膾炙人口的作品。專輯推出後收到樂界一致好評。"尤樂的音樂具有觸及內心深處的魔力。他與Chris Cheek以及和樂團完美無缺的搭配，聽眾能感受到「Midnight Runner」是一張讓人驚喜，且能一聽再聽的專輯。" -樂評收錄於Jazz Breakfast

The tenor saxophonist Jonas Ganzemueller (尤樂) has enjoyed an extensive performing career as a sideman, co-leader and bandleader. Appearances range from the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Birdland in Hamburg, the Bimhuis in Amsterdam, to jazz venues in New York such as Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Iridium Jazz Club.

His debut album as a leader Midnight Runner, which features jazz icon Chris Cheek on several songs, shows Ganzemueller not only as an "innovative" (Kieler Nachrichten) improviser with a powerful voice on the saxophone, but also as a sophisticated composer. Jonas Ganzemuller graduated with a Masters of Music from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City in 2011, received prestigious grants such as the German DAAD, the Dutch NFPK, Huygens and Prins Bernhard scholarships and was awarded competition prizes from institutions such as the North American Saxophone Alliance (2010). Bobby Sanabria's CD Titu Puente Masterworks which also features Jonas Ganzemuller was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2011.

[ Nicholas McBride | Drums ]  

Nicholas McBride是一名 來自於澳洲的鼓手 他自2002年起常駐於中國上海。Nicholas畢業於澳洲國立大學爵士樂專業， 他在21歲時便離開了家鄉 堪培拉。 在1992年到2002年期 間，Nicholas移居雪梨， 錄製了總數超過20張的專 輯。其中合作的澳洲作曲 家有 Sean Wayland, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Gerard Masters Trio,以及 Lily Dior 。同時他成立了90年代雪梨最成功的非營利性的原創音樂組織“Jazzgroove”以及堪培拉“Jazz Initiative”的創始人之一。Nicholas從5歲便有敏銳節奏感的天份，也是在5歲學習架子鼓，在過去的30年間，他參與製作專輯錄製、巡迴演出、現身於 各大音樂節，以自由音樂人的身份活躍在世界各地。與此同時，他還是上海和 平飯店、澳門威尼斯人酒店、JZ Club, Salmos Lounge, CJW, House of Blues & Jazz, Heyday, Shake的演出嘉賓。Nicholas 是擁有深厚爵士樂功底的鼓手，多元化發展並能掌握各類音樂風格的 演出，他與九拍音樂教育平台(在全中國擁有超過1000家分校)合作並為其錄 製教學影片、大師課主講、進行獨奏表演以及擔任評為等等。除此之外 Nicholas還是中國吉林藝術學院的客座教授。

Nicholas McBride is an Australian drummer, band leader and educator currently based in Taipei, Taiwan. He spent 10 years freelancing in Sydney, then 18 years in Shanghai where he was based since 2002. Nicholas began studying drums at the age of 5 and has been freelancing in Asia for the past 18 years, touring, recording new projects, jazz festivals and residencies at Bluenote, Brown Sugar, Salmos Lounge, JZ Club, CJW, Heyday, House of Blues and Jazz, Shake, also the Venetian and Sands Resorts in Macau where he was band leader of the Big Small Trio in the Sands VIP lounge. Since 2012 Nicholas has been working with the 9beats Drum

Institute (over 1000 branches in China) as an artist, recording a series of instructional drum recordings (30 original songs), instructional videos, giving drum technique masterclasses and solo performances all across mainland China. In 2016 he was rewarded an honorary guest “Professor” of Jazz Drumming at the Jilin University of the Arts, in Changchun, for his contributions to drum education in China.
